Peepholes are a great security feature to have -- so simple, yet so effective!

Effectiveness -- This peephole is awesome! It is EXTREMELY clear. The product says 200 degrees of viewing but honestly, that doesn't really mean much to me. In simple terms, I can see a lot! I can see right at the beginning of my doormat and clear across the street at my neighbor's house. There is no way someone could crouch down and hide because they would be in plain view.

Installation -- It was a cinch! I am NOT handy at all (it seriously takes me like 20 minutes to hang a large painting haha). My wife even had concerns about me drilling a hole completely through our door because she thought I would screw it up LOL. Pros:
* Nice looking
* Easy to install
* Clear view/image

Cons
* Can find cheaper door viewers (but why not spend a few more bucks and get a better one?)

Other
* Needs a 1/2 diameter hole
* Some people might like 200 degrees of view, but I think it's a little excessive
* The outside part is much larger than the 1/2 inch hole. That's why I bought it - because when I drilled the hole, some of the door's veneer chipped away and the extra large outside diameter covers it up well.
* Be sure to install it at the correct height
* Drill the hole from the side of the door where you want it centered because on the other side it might not be centered like you might expect (depends on your door of course)

Great product - clear view - except when I washed my door w/ wtr hose. Lens fogged up and didn't clear up.
